Damage Control: Celebs Who Took Back Their Power After Leaked Nudes

July 10, 2015 - 3:27 pm by Diamond Hillyer

From Tyga to Gabrielle Union, stars sound off on hackers after their nudes leaked.

For some, sending a few spicy pics to Bae can be either cute or risky. But when you’re a Hollywood notable, you aren’t safe in the merciless world of technology.

From nip slips to nude leaks, smartphones have seen it all.

Unfortunately, some stars (see: Tyga) have learned the hard way that shots below-the-waist can lead to even lower blows. See who still rose to the occasion and turned their leaked goods into a platform above.—Diamond Hillyer

Tyga

The former YMCMB signee clawed back with legal defense after an alleged sext conversation surfaced, hinting at an alleged affair with transgender actress Mia Isabella. Lee Hutton, the rapper’s lawyer, came forth to admit that the nude photos were of Tyga, but were not sent to Mia Isabella and claimed that the scandal was staged to “maliciously shame” his client. Tyga even went so far as to try to recruit the FBI to fish out the perpetrator behind the alleged scandal.

Little Miss Keke broke her silence on Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club about a few racy photos that hit the viral grapevines last October. She called the hackers and all others who were excited about the photos “peeping Toms,” and blasted her critics who judged her for the mishap. “It is a devastating feeling because there is nothing you can say. You can just let it go because what can you do? Write a whole long post on Instagram? Who cares about that? That won’t make you feel better. But it does suck.”

Another 2014 celebrity nude hack victim, the Waist Deep actress came for the hackers on Instagram. She stated that the photos were intended only for her husband, and that sharers and jokers of the scandal ought to be ashamed. “For everyone re-posting the leaked nudes? You should be ashamed of yourselves,” Good asserted.

After the theft of her laptop, some bare-bottomed flicks of the Latina personality went viral and sent Disney into a frenzy. Bailon’s rep, Jonathan Jaxson, addressed the leaks with talks of a legal action pursuit. The leaks inconveniently surfaced on the Internet during her Cheetah Girls tour in 2010 and publicized relationship with Rob Kardashian.

The G.O.O.D. Music singer’s bare-chested photos sent Twitter chirping in 2012 after claims of a social media hack. In a brief statement, Taylor said that her phone was stolen, and because it was connected to her Twitter account, the hacker had a little fun with her photo collage. “I sincerely apologize to all my supporters and followers who had to witness the devil at work,” Taylor said, “and at what he does best. Karma is a $&@# but I’ll let God handle that. That’s it that’s all.”

You can't tell Kanye nothin', especially when it comes to his package. After a pic of his goods hit the interwebs in 2010. ‘Ye took to Hot 97 to express his disappointment not with the leak, but the fact that his private area got cut out of the viral photo. “Have you heard the first line of 'Runaway'? I only rap reality!,” Yeezy said. "The first line of the song is, 'She find pictures in my email/I sent this girl a picture of my, hey!'"

In a slew of celebrity nude hacks that blazed the Internet last year, Gabby fell victim to stolen intimate flicks of her own that were published in the collection. At Cosmopolitan magazine‘s Fun Fearless Life Conference last November, she boldly addressed the critics and “criminals” who played into the photo heist. “When someone takes your choice away and your power away over your own body, it’s a crime. Period.”
