Dog Wedding Breaks Guinness World Record
Baby Hope Diamond and Chilly Pasternak
Holy Muttrimony took place Thursday (July 12) night at Jumeirah Essex House in New York. Teacup Coton de Tulear, Baby Hope Diamond and tie-dyed poodle, Chilly Pasternak came together for an extravagant $250,000 wedding to raise money and awareness for the Humane Society of New York.
The over-the-top wedding broke the Guinness World Record for the most expensive animal wedding ever. 250 humans and 50 pups were the viewers of a $6,000 custom-made wedding dress, $5,000 sushi spread, and a $15,000 seven-piece orchestra.
Owner Wendy Diamond put the entire ceremony together after she learned her 15-year-old maltese Lucky had cancer. She began an online contest to find a new partner for Lucky, but when she passed, Baby Diamond took her space.
The arranged marriage is probably one some humans wouldn't mind having including not living together, sleeping together, or even see one another.
