Erick Sermon Shoots 'Make Room' Video With Sheek Louch And Joell Ortiz

June 10, 2015 - 6:50 pm by Kathryn E. Jones

Erick Sermon shoots his "Make Room" video

From Strictly Business to strictly New York, Erick Sermon hit the city streets for his latest video "Make Room."

The Long Island rep racked up a catalog since 1987 along with a resume full of accomplishments: albums that went gold with partner Parrish Smith in the on-and-off rap duo, EPMD; released solo projects; owning DEF RUGS; founding the Def Squad with Keith Murray and Redman; and not to mention, producing top-of-the-chart hits for today’s artists.

The newest venture of the Green Eyed Bandit is his seventh album, E.S.P. (Erick Sermon’s Perception), which he revealed will be a mixture of the old and new in an interview with Hip-Hop Vibe at the 2014 Global Spin Awards.

Over the past weekend, Sermon shot the music video for the compilation's first single, “Make Room,” in an old railroad yard and packed the historic South Bronx set with hip-hop powerhouses and fellow New Yorkers, Sheek Louch and Joell Ortiz.

“I wanted emcees that were going to represent. Sheek Louch did one of the best verses of his career. It showcases them, and it showcases NY, and it’s a big record. You can't front on this. The beats, the rhymes the chorus, it’s a NY Hip Hop record,” Sermon said. Comedian Jack Thriller from MTV’s Wild ‘N Out also appeared on set.

“Make Room” is currently available on iTunes while E.S.P is set for release in August, but for now peep some of the behind-the-scenes action. --Kathryn E. Jones
