Kerry Washington Talks Olivia Pope's Legacy In Net-A-Porter’s 'The Edit'
Kerry Washington gives details on how she transforms into Oliva Pope, and dispite her character's excessive wine consumption she confesses she doesn't drink.
Kerry Washington's face has been taking over more than just our TV set's on Thursday nights with her scandalous powerhouse character Olivia Pope. She has made quite the cover girl for herself too as she lands the cover of Net-A-Porter’s 'The Edit'.
The spread shot by Bjorn Iooss features Kerry sporting a white fringe jacket by Isabel Marant and exuding that fresh "I woke up like this" beat she's well known for. In her cover story she reveals how she wants the world to remember Olivia Pope as well as confessing that she live tweeted during the labor of her daughter Isabella saying, "I tweeted in the very early stages of my labor. I figured that if I went completely silent on social media, then people would know I was in the hospital!"
Ans when asked how Olivia will be remember Kerry responded by saying:
"I hope people remember her as a complicated, fully realized human being; she’s not a stereotype and she’s not an accessory. I think that it’s important for women to know, in film and in TV and in life, that you can be the lead of your own story. I hope she’s remembered for that, as somebody who is the driving force of her own life."
