Gaga's Gun Bra
Timing really is everything. The assault rifle brassiere the singer wore in Vancouver actually isn't new (she debuted it on the cover of Rolling Stone back in 2010). What dragged her chest decor into the spotlight was the uncomfortably recent string of gun-related violence (i.e. Sandy Hook Elementary) and the country's current state of gun reform.
All Red Everything
Eminem, rap's most stone-faced emcee, couldn't hold his composure when Gaga joined him on stage with a blood-red lace minidress, facial cloak and foot high crown at the 2009 MTV VMAs.
At the 2011 Grammy Nominations Concert, her uncanny resemblance to Rick Genest, the Tumblr-popular model with the tattooed skull face, was an eyeful.
The Meat Dress
Gaga's gown, shoes and headdress made of cuts of dead cow intrigued most, disgusted some and worried many (is that safe?!).
Forget traditional accessories. Why adorn your neck with pearls when you can wear them on your face? These must have been Lady Gaga's sentiments at the amfAR New York Gala co-sponsored by MAC Cosmetics at Cipriani.
Sometimes it's not so much the outfit that freaks people out; it's the delivery. At the close of her 2011 VMA performance, she hung from the ceiling with a white cutout leotard that began to bleed down her body. She fully committed to her character, staring out into the audience with dead eyes, artistic, yet creepy.
Gaga may have creeped out many Sesame Street lovers with the jacket she wore on a German television show. The jacket was made out of a dozen Kermit the Frogs. Weird.
Lady Gaga's hair is often the talk of the town, especially when it's on her body. She's actually worn weave ensembles on a number of red carpets and stages.
The Womb Dress
Gaga disturbed attendees of the 2011 Grammy Awards by playing embryo with her Hussein Chalayan designed enclosure.
