Lil Uzi Vert And O.T. Genasis Bring The Hype To Four Loko’s Epic After Party
Music festival weekends often become "When I was your age" story-telling type of moments, a.k.a. one for the books. But when an awesome after party sketches a good time into your memory, you're bound to never forget.
Four Loko kicked off its annual two-night After Party series in the streets of Chicago, just outside of the West Loop on Friday (July 29) night. Held at the 6,000 square-foot space of Moonlight Studios, the beverage brand transformed two gallery spaces into a fun party island of sorts, accented with gritty graffiti photo op stations, fun pool-side inflatables and a colorful futuristic set designed by the Windy City's creative agency, Canvas.
As the clock approached the 9 p.m. start time, hundreds of locals and festival attendees waited patiently in line to take on the Four Loko experience. Before entry was granted, attendees mingled, grabbed a couple bites and took in good eats outside the double doors that led to a block filled with entertaining outdoor accoutrements. But, once inside, the first 150 guests were treated to custom graphic t-shirts for the event from Chicago street wear line Jugrnaut.
The party aspect came to life instantly as crowds of guests began to fill the venue to capacity, taking in not just the coolly curated event, but sampling Four Loko's new line of spirits. The Four Loko Crazy Collins, a tangy lemon drop infused cocktail, was a crowd favorite as folks jammed to the tunes of local DJ Sean Mac. Keeping the party in motion with hit-after-hit and favored throwbacks, the night progressed into a dance party of epic proportions as Chicagoans turned up and vibed out to the sounds of everything imaginable from Chief Keef to Rihanna.
Rapper O.T. Genasis hit the stage as the night's opening act for a sample size performance of his booming catalog. Genasis' platinum and gold records "CoCo" and "Cut It" proved to be real party starters, turning up the dial on the already lit crowd.
As the night progressed, rising rap rockstar Lil Uzi Vert took the stage. Shirtless, fuchsia dreads swaying and an iced out grill illuminating his mouth, the headliner didn't disappoint, performing countless songs from several of his lauded mixtapes dating back to 2014. Uzi's showmanship is the kind that's unmatched and grounded in humility and respect for his fans. At one point during his set, he hopped off the stage and ran around the venue, fans chasing his every move. He even hit the VIP area, two-stepping and smiling to the bottom-heavy bass booming from the speakers as fans anxiously Snapchatted every surreal moment. And although Snapchat is infamous for its strict 24 hours limit that erases moments out of thin air, the night and its performances will be forever be remembered as one hell of a night.
