MAC Recruits Rising Artists For Its New Future Forward Collection
Cop or nah?
Known for bada** beauty and makeup products and even more bada** collaborations with the who's who of the entertainment industry, MAC Cosmetics is kicking off the new year with an announcement that's all about the next generation.
Titled the Future Forward collection, the popular cosmetics brand has snagged an epic roster featuring Tinashe, Dej Loaf, Jillian Hervey of Lion Babe and Halsey, who have all solidified themselves as artists to watch.
“It feels like a great thing to be able to support artists who are breaking through but aren’t necessarily at the top top, to push them forward,” James Gager, M.A.C’s Senior Vice President and Group Creative Director, told Billboard.
Each lady will create one product that exemplifies their style for the limited-edition collection that will roll out on March 17 with Tinashe's "Times Nine Palette" of eye shadow ($32). For those riding to the rebellious beat of their own wave, Halsey's gunmental blue lipstick ($17) is a must-have come March 31.
Dej Loaf, whose rosy-nude lipglass ($15) will drop on April 14, was excited for the chance to be a part of the MAC brand. "Music was just a stepping stone for me, I want to get into other things outside of music...creative things. This first step [with M·A·C] is a big first step," she told Billboard.
The collaboration comes to a grand close with Lion Babe front woman Jillian Hervey's shimmery gold Liquidlast Liner ($21) on April 28. Click through the gallery above to see the goods from the collaboration.
