Review: Roc Nation's Mayaeni And Kevin Garrett Show Out In SoHo
Roc Nation is in the building.
Michigan's own Mayaeni inspired the crowd to engage in a collective two-step at the Sennheiser x Tidal Launch party late Thursday night (Oct. 27) in SoHo. Roc Nation’s rising artist and newcomer Kevin Garrett headlined the event, but not before surprise guest Young Paris brought his AfroBeat-infused sounds to the stage.
After performing her singles “Million n’1” and “Shooter,” Mayaeni began to warm up to the intimate room, and shared a new song titled “Over You.” During her performance, Mayaeni played new music, which you should keep an ear out for. Her performance brought life to the event before she passed the stage to Garrett.
The fellow Roc Nation artist set up his keyboard and the room stood still until he played his songs “Coloring” and “Pushing Away.” Before he ended the show and headed back to Germany to continue his tour, he wrapped up his set with a cover of Beyoncé’s “Pray You Catch Me.”
