Missoni Founder Dead At 92
The fashion world has lost another innovator. Ottavio Missoni, the designer renowned for his colorful knit patterns and sweaters, died Thursday (May 9) at age 92, the New York Times reports. The Italian designer, who founded Missoni in the 1950s, had been experiencing respiratory problems prior to his passing.
Plenty of celebrities have draped themselves in Missoni threads. But one of the designer’s most vocal supporters is Drake, who once told GQ, "I don't give a fuck what anybody says about my Missoni sweaters! Fuck you, if you don't like my sweater!" The rapper even aspired to collaborate with the label, adding, "Hopefully, Missoni hollers at me and we get a sweater line popping."
