Here's What You Missed At ATL's Music Midtown Festival

September 23, 2015 - 2:15 pm by J'na Jefferson

In case you didn't make it down to Music Midtown Festival in Atlanta last weekend, here's who lit up the stage.

This past weekend (Sept. 18 and 19), some of the current chart-toppers across various genres as well as a plethora of historic musicians made their way down to Atlanta to take the Music Midtown Festival stage. The two-day event, which was held in Piedmont Park, had a diverse group of artists entertain the equally-as-diverse crowd on four different stages. Acts ranged from Drake, Sam Smith, Tove Lo and August Alsina to Hall and Oates, Elton John, Billy Idol and Alice in Chains.

The Live Nation show also featured a few surprises. Big Boi, T.I. and Gangsta Boo all showed love during Run The Jewels' set and up-and-comer Alessia Cara stayed true to her YouTube roots by performing some song covers, which is what she initially did on the popular site that helped her gain notoriety. Rock group Panic! At The Disco also wowed with their rendition of Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody,” in addition to their hit songs “I Write Sins Not Tragedies” and “The Ballad of Mona Lisa.”

Other notable festival acts included Lenny Kravitz, Vance Joy, Metric, Jenny Lewis, Icona Pop, Kodaline, The Airborne Toxic Event, Catfish and the Bottlemen, Andrew McMahon In The Wilderness, Elle King, New Politics, X Ambassadors, Colony House, Rozzi Crane, Alessia Cara, Elliot Moss and Vinyl Theatre.
