President Obama delivering a speech at Mandela's memorial

President Obama, Bono, Charlize Theron And More Pay Their Respects At Nelson Mandela Memorial

December 10, 2013 - 8:37 pm by VIBE

Thousands gathered at FNB stadium in Johannesburg, South Africa to remember anti-apartheid icon Nelson Mandela. The beloved statesman passed away at the age of 95 last week Thursday (Dec. 5) but left a lasting legacy across the glove.
Joining South African dignitaries, Bono from the band U2, South African native Charlize Theron, the Clinton family and President Barack Obama, who gave Mandela’s eulogy, were in attendance, paying their respects to Madiba.
During his speech, Obama eloquently stated one of Mandela's famous quotes. “Nelson Mandela reminds us that it always seems impossible until it is done.”
Check out his full speech here and the photos above.
