Lil Uzi Vert, Playboi Carti, Baka Not Nice And More Brought The Party To RapCaviar Live Toronto

October 2, 2017 - 5:43 pm by Stacy-Ann Ellis TWITTER

Toronto was in for a treat when RapCaviar Live came to town.

Rap fans in the 6ix got their life this past weekend (Sept. 28). Spotify's live concert series, RapCaviar Live, took their talents to Toronto, where they put the spotlight on not only America's fastest rising stars, but on home grown Toronto talent as well. Lil Uzi Vert, the evening's headliner, shared a bill with Playboi Carti and DJ Drama at Toronto's REBEL. What the crowd didn't know, however, was that they were about to indulge in surprise guests galore.

Jetted to Toronto last week to for @rapcaviar's concert featuring @liluzivert, @playboicarti, @bakanotnice, @torylanez, @djdrama, @murdabeatz_ and more. To say the crowd was lit was an understatement. Check out some of the highlights.

Unannounced guests included Murda Beatz, Roy Woods, Killy, Pressa, Tory Lanez and OVO's newest signee (and the rapper behind Summer 2017's low key hottest song, "Live Up To My Name") Baka Not Nice. Even Drake was down in the crowd soaking up all the Toronto magic.

The evening was kinda lit, to put it really lightly. Check out more footage from RapCaviar below and flip through for photos and a recap of what you missed.

Toronto producer and rapper played host for the night, amping up the crowd before bringing out fellow hometown artist, Pressa. The crowd ate up Pressa's hit song "Novacane" before he debuted a new track, "Bloody Hands," featuring Murda.

OVO crooner Roy Woods was the first surprise guest of the evening, coming out to share R&B loverboy vibes on "Get You Good." As he moved through his catalog, he shed his layers both literally and figuratively. By the time he got to "Gwan Big Up Urself," his sonic ode to Caribbean culture, he was shirtless and gyrating centerstage.

If there's one person the crowd wanted to see hands down, it was Playboi Carti. Hours before he even touched the stage, the 19+ crowd chanted his name, awaiting their moment to mosh. When he arrived, he delivered all the goods, namely "White Hoe/Let's Go," "DoThatSh*t!" and his crowning jewel, "Magnolia." He basked in the thunderous applause at the end of his set and even blew out kisses into the crowd.

As a special treat to the Toronto crowd, Playboi Carti brought out OVO's newest signee, Baka Not Nice. He had the venue on tilt as he performed his breakout hit, "Live Up To My Name." Drake looked on from backstage, cheering on his friend during his rockstar moment.

As every member of the swaying crowd would soon learn, RapCaviar Live Toronto was was full of surprises. During DJ Drama's set, Tory Lanez emerged from the back of the stage to much fanfare. Before debuting a brand new song, "Shooters," he stage dove into the crowd for "Diego."

Lil Uzi Vert

As the evening's big headliner, Lil Uzi Vert brought the fun to the 6ix. For one, his grand entrance to the stage included a confetti canon and a high-octane delivery of "Sauce It Up." He hit his trademark shoulder dance to "Money Longer," incited full crowd jumping for "Do What I Want" and listened to the attendees sing "XO Tour Llif3" word-for-word.
