Sports Bars: The Best Sports References From Jeezy’s 'Seen It All: The Autobiography'

September 3, 2014 - 5:12 pm by Terrence Watson

What a year to be Jeezy. No matter the circumstance, but usually for the better, he’s been a mainstay in the headlines. In case you forgot, he and long time fan ESPN college basketball analyst Jay Bilas took over the internet with their first meeting for us, at the top of the summer. Now after he blessed the blogs with the best interview this year (thaaat’s right—Jeezy voice), his highly anticipated album Seen It All: The Autobiography drops today.

To celebrate, we’re dissecting The Snowman’s best bars related to the sports game off of his latest, greatest. Click the arrows above to peep Jeezy’s illest sports related bars.

Track Title: 1-4 Block “I’m the undisputed trap king, talking straight cash shit like Mayweather/Yeah, I was 15 on the Money Team/ Whoop a nigga ass like Mayweather” Jeezy’s pretty direct here. Not many athletes (or any other entertainers) can claim to have Mayweather level loot, and when it comes to rapping about that white, not many rappers can see Jeezy’s authentic anecdotes.

Track Title: Black Eskimo “Had them coming to Atlanta for the Hawks/Had the ticket, was the man in the city/Had the city so motherfuckin hot/Damn near bought a fan for my city” Sometimes Jeezy’s references to weight fly over people’s heads, but it’s not hard to tell he’s not talking about basketball with this double layered lyric. But it could be a nod to one of the NBA 50 greatest players, Dominique Wilkins who was a “hot ticket” attraction back in the day. Jeezy openly admitted he was the man in that A, and one of the stars he wanted to shine like before he blew up.
Heisman

Track Title: Black Eskimo “Yeah I got a few trophies, bitch that Hublot looking like a Heisman/I’m so motherfuckin’ high up in this bitch, I swear I’m thinking bout divin’.” Drake might say there’s no awards for certain thing in life or rap, but the Jeezy begs to differ. This line’s all about recognizing that he made it, he won and he’s reached a level in life that few ever will.

Track Title: Black Eskimo “Gotta keep the grass cut/Keep ya eyes on these snake ass niggas, cuz they pythons/The God of this bitch, the MJ of this shit and you can tell these niggas Mike home” Have to stay on top of your game when you’re on top. Jeezy’s letting the fans know they have to be aware of everything, even those close to you. But that last line is a reminder to those who want the trap rap throne: there’s a reason why the Snowman’s on top.

Track Title: Enough “See I passed the rock a couple of times/Let me assist/Nigga, me and y’all together, how the fuck we gon’ miss?” With the right crew, the right support, Jeezy can’t fail. Just a daily reminder to work with your team, not against them.
Bruce Lee

Track Title: Been Getting Money “Had a mill at 16, know how that felt/And I’m still kickin’ shit bitch, black belt” Apparently, Jeezy graduated from the streets, no diploma and, by age 16, made a million off that corner (free Meek Mill). The numbers probably won’t add up, but whatever, he’s taking creative license. Plus, at age 16, anything over a $1,000 probably felt like a million. Jeezy’s still kickin shit thought, meaning he’s still working for bigger success.
Spike Lee

Track Title: Seen It All “I got it five grand a pop/Had a plug in St. Thomas on a trillion watts (trill shit)/Flew ‘em back to the states, park 92 bricks in front of 560 State/Now the Nets a stone throw from where I used to throw bricks/So it’s only right I’m still tossin’ round Knicks.” Jay Z just couldn’t resist, huh? Rick Ross, Future, even Boosie Badazz made guest appearances on Seen It All, but Jigga Man’s verse got super personal and introspective on the title track. But who is Jay Z if he’s not talking a little shit, this time in the form of a shot at the New York Knicks.
