What Happens When Super Models Make A Movie About Super Models?
Tyson Beckford has been feeling himself lately. See Exhibit A below:
But it turns out the documentation of his shred campaign hasn't been narcissism gone wild. Tyson has been keeping G.I. Joe action-hero fit for his role in Chocolate City and Supermodels. The movie, produced by Datari Turner (Luv, Video Girl), also stars Sessilee Lopez, Angela Simmons, Toccara Jones and Tatyana Ali. Here's the gist: main character Sessilee grinds hard, makes it big on the runway only to discover the cut-throat world of fashion.
"My career began at 19 years old as a model when I was signed by the Ford Modeling Agency and became a rising star in the fashion world," says Turner, who appeared in campaigns for Abercrombie, Sean John, Ralph Lauren, Banana Republic, Tommy Hilfiger and Rocawear. "When I stopped modeling to pursue a career, in film and television, I always said I would eventually make a film about Black models."
If there are future castings Turner should look into this guy. Maybe he could play Tyson's younger brother. In the meantime check out some early stills from the film.
