The Top 6 Kaytranada Remixes Of All Time
Picking out the best Kaytranada remixes is like deciding on a strain to try in Amsterdam – every one is so good, can’t we keep them all? The Canadian producer hailing from Montreal’s bubbling Booty Bakery scene has been making noise at Boiler Rooms and DJ gigs across the world, and Americans are slowly starting to catch on. We’re here to hip everybody else to game.
Thanks to the dude’s Soundcloud, you can listen to almost every single remix of his without interruption, but if that’s too daunting, we (barely) slimmed it down to ten of his illest. Put some shoes on – you’re gonna wanna get down.

6. Azealia Banks (Feat. Pharrell) – ATM Jam
This was supposed to be Azealia’s next huge single, and it bellyflopped in the middle of summer, dead on arrival. But where the original is flat, the remix is sharp – Kaytranada warps the opening drums and puts Azealia’s verse first instead of Pharrell’s hook. That hook, which sounds dull on the original, is absolutely fire on here. It’s a magical transformation.
I found this song while being lame and staying in on a Saturday night, watching Kaytranada on Boiler Room instead of going out like a normal human being. Now I’m glad that I was a loser that night.

5. Janet Jackson - "If"
“If” is what got the Montreal producer buzzing on Soundcloud. Janet’s classic is smoothed out and stripped down to her seductive vocals, and the climax of the hook can set the dancefloor on fire. It’s the kind of sonic update that transports you from the club to a spaceship.

4. Danny Brown - "Lie4"
It never gets Old hearing Danny Brown rap over some non-traditional music (get it – “Old”? Kill me now), and “Lie4” doesn’t disappoint. Marrying 808’s and strings out of Buddhist temples, the result is too fascinating to stop listening.

4. Snakehips - "On & On"
Drenching Mtume’s original drums with sizzurp, the “On & On” remix highlights the Australian vocalist George Maple over stabbing, hazy synths. Kaytranada gets to slow it down, showing why he can mess with any number of tempos to bring out the body heat.

3. American Royalty – "Mariah"
“Mariah” brings Kaytranada’s style back to earth with squiggling synths and unrequited strings, sounding more like a forest trek than an outer space adventure – but it might leave you staring out into the nighttime stars.

1. Beverlay – "Typically Her"
God damn, this guy makes you want to get up and move. Beverlay’s original drum pattern gets liberated into ecstasy alongside sparkling synthesizers that veer up and then simmer below.
