May The Fourth Be With You: UNIQLO Celebrates Star Wars Day
In honor of Star Wars Day, UNIQLO launched a new line of shirts to celebrate the galactic holiday.
As we prepare for the super galactic holiday where saying "Let the fourth be with you" to everyone you see is perfectly normal, clothing brand, UNIQLO, plans to give its customers and Star Wars fans a way to celebrate a little bit differently this year.
In honor of Star Wars Day (May 4), the multicultural brand has launched its new collection of Star Wars inspired UNIQLO T-shirts along with a Grand Prix 2015 design competition. Competitors had the chance to have their submissions featured in the line along with designs by four of the judges who will essentially critique them. The judges—Darth Vader, cartoonist Jerffrey Brown, UT creative director NIGO, Lucasfilm executive director Doug Chiang, and Star Wars Rebel art director Kilian Plunkett—choose various winners to take home the Grand prize, second prize and congratulated several runner ups.
On May 2, UNIQLO will also host two in-store T-shirt launches where attendees can meet and take pictures with Darth Vador, Boba Fett, Stormtroopers, and the famous Jedi Knight. The festivities will take place at the Flagship in New York City and at the Beverly Center in Los Angeles.
Check out the winning designs up top and may the force, or fourth, be with you!
