Wild Card! The 10 Craziest Moments of Floyd Mayweather Jr.'s Career
The Date: April 2006
The Crazy Moment: During a match against Zab Judah, Mayweather was winning on all cards when Judah decided to throw a punch that was clearly below the belt. As a result, Mayweather's uncle/trainer Roger Mayweather entered the ring and got into a scuffle with Judah and his father/trainer Yoel Judah while Mayweather looked on.
Why It Was So Wild: This was a professional boxing match, yet it looked like something you'd see on a street corner late one Saturday night after everyone's had a few too many to drink. Roger Mayweather was fined $200,000 and suspended for a year for his participation in the fight and Judah was also eventually suspended from fighting for a year.

The Date: May 2007
The Crazy Moment: In an effort to intimidate his Mexican opponent Oscar De La Hoya, Mayweather made his way to the ring wearing a sombrero. The fight also took place on Cinco De Mayo.
Why It Was So Wild: Maaaaaaaan, Mayweather was on one when he decided to do this. And to make matters worse, this was also the first time that Mayweather nabbed 50 Cent to escort him to the ring, which made for one hell of an entrance. Before the match even started, Mayweather was already in De La Hoya's head.

The Date: August 2007
The Crazy Moment: Mayweather invited the MTV cameras into his Las Vegas home to document it for an episode of MTV Cribs.
Why It Was So Wild: If you've never seen Mayweather giving the world a tour of his house, please see it immediately. (Spoiler alert: One of the features he shows is an unbelievably large stack of money that he then uses to make it rain in his bedroom. Pretty ridiculous stuff.)

Floyd 4
The Date: November 2007
The Crazy Moment: In the buildup to his match against Ricky Hatton, Mayweather boldly declared that he is better than Muhammad Ali and Sugar Ray Robinson. "I respect what Robinson and Ali did for the sport," Mayweather said, "but I am the greatest, and this is my time."
Why It Was So Wild: Hold up, though. You think you're better than Ali and Robinson, Floyd? He generated a lot of hype with his words, but he backed them up by knocking Hatton out in the 10th round of their fight.

The Date: January 2010
The Crazy Moment: Diddy reportedly had to stop Mayweather from getting into a fight with rapper Rick Ross outside of a club in Las Vegas. The two had exchanged verbal jabs with one another because of the beef between Ross and Mayweather's friend 50 Cent.
Why It Was So Wild: The thought of Diddy of all people trying to stop a fight between one of the best boxers of all-time and one of the biggest rappers in the game is just funny to us. But we salute you for playing the role of the peacemaker in this situation, Puff.

Floyd 6
The Date: March 2011
The Crazy Moment: Mayweather went to a Las Vegas sportsbook earlier this year and put up a $41,000 bet on a single half of NBA basketball—and then put up a Twitpic of his winning receipt! That led to a few weeks of Mayweather betting upwards of $500,000 on single sporting events and telling his Twitter followers about it.
Why It Was So Wild: Yo, your man was betting $500,000 on NFL games and $50,000 on NBA halves! It didn't really make Mayweather look like much of a role model for kids, but it did help him live up to his "Money Mayweather" nickname.

Floyd 7
The Date: May 2011
The Crazy Moment: He might have a rough exterior, but earlier this year, Mayweather made a heartfelt video clip that featured him explaining why he loved—wait for it—Justin Bieber's Never Say Never movie. WTF, dude?
Why It Was So Wild: Mayweather doesn't really strike us as the type of guy who would sit down and watch Never Say Never. And he really doesn't strike us as the type of guy who would sit down and watch Never Say Never and then make a video about how much he loved it. But, hey: Never say never, right?

Floyd 8
The Date: July 2011
The Crazy Moment: During a trip to a club in Atlanta, Mayweather was caught on camera lighting a $100 bill on fire and holding it up in the air.
Why It Was So Wild: The guy lit a $100 bill on fire! He later tried to say that he did it simply as a joke to generate publicity. But how crazy is it that he's so rich that he lights his own money on fire?

Floyd 9
The Date: August 2011
The Crazy Moment: During filming for HBO's reality show, 24/7, which documented Mayweather's training for the Victor Ortiz fight, Mayweather almost got into a fist-fight with his father Floyd Mayweather, Sr.—and HBO's cameras caught all of the action and featured it on the first installment of the show.
Why It Was So Wild: Mayweather and his own father had to literally be separated by members of Mayweather's entourage in his gym. Yes, Mayweather and his own father. If that isn't the craziest thing Mayweather's ever been involved in, we don't know what is. We're just glad they didn't actually come to blows.

Floyd 10
The Date: September 2011
The Crazy Moment: After knocking Victor Ortiz down and getting the 42nd win of his professional career, Mayweather threw some shots at HBO's Larry Merchant, who got so riled up by Mayweather's comments that he said, "If I was 50 years younger, I'd kick your ass!"
Why It Was So Wild: Everyone who paid $60 to order the Mayweather/Ortiz pay-per-view fight was understandably upset by the way the fight ended. But the bizarre back-and-forth between Mayweather and Merchant was easily worth the price of admission. As usual, Mayweather knew how to give people their money's worth. Well done, champ.
